As an independent producer, she has collaborated with Tina Satter\/ Half Straddle (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is This A Room<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">); Toshi Reagon (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Octavia Butler\u2019s Parable of the Sower<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">);\u00a0 Pig Iron Theatre Company, The Chekhov Project, and Andrew Ondrejcak. Her previous appointments include Andrew W. Mellon Creative Fellow at University of Washington in Seattle, Director of La Jolla Playhouse\u2019s Without Walls, a site-specific and experiential city-wide commissioning festival in San Diego; and Co-Director of Under the Radar Festival at The Public Theater in New York. In 2013, she led the creation of the Devised Theater Initiative, a program that enhances UTR\u2019s year-round programmatic structure by serving as an incubator for independently produced work. She was the curator of the Park Avenue Armory\u2019s Artist In Residence series, the lead curator of Arts Emerson\u2019s TNT Festival and the artistic associate of Singapore Repertory Theatre. She holds a M.F.A. in Directing from Columbia University. Meiyin was born and raised in Singapore by Taiwanese parents.
