He earned his PhD in Drama from Stanford University in 2007. Recent projects include directing Rachel Joseph\u2019s <i class=\"\">Antigone in the City <\/i>for the Festival Laboratorio Interculturale Pratiche di Teatrali and writing and performing for site-specific collaborations with Teatro Potlach in Fara in Sabina, Italy. Kyle creates performances and leads workshops that explore invisibility, memory and traveling in the city. He has directed plays by Beckett, Brecht, Vogel, Wilder, Wohl, Stoppard, Shepard and others. His writing about theatre includes <i class=\"\">Railway Travel in Modern Theatre: Transforming the Space and Time of the Stage <\/i>(McFarland, 2014) and <i class=\"\">Thornton Wilder\u2019s The Skin of Our Teeth <\/i>(Routledge, 2016), as well as several essays, reviews and creative work in journals ranging from <i class=\"\">Performance Research <\/i>and <i class=\"\">Theatre Journal <\/i>to <i class=\"\">Modern Drama<\/i>. Kyle\u2019s Imagined Theatres and Glosses appear in Daniel Sack\u2019s book <i class=\"\">Imagined Theatres: Writing for a Theoretical Stage <\/i>(Routledge, 2017)<i class=\"\">. <\/i>He is currently finishing <i class=\"\">The Invisible City: travel, attention and performance <\/i>(under contract with Routledge).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Kyle Gillette is a writer, director and associate professor of theatre at Trinity University.
