His 2016 collection, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Performance of Becoming Human<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, received the National Book Award. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lake Michigan <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2018) was a finalist for the Griffin International Poetry Prize. His most recent translations are Cecilia Vicu\u00f1a\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Deer Book <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2024); and Paula Ilabaca Nu\u00f1ez\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Loose Pearl <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2022), winner of the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. His translation of Galo Ghigliotto&#8217;s <em>Valdivia<\/em> received the American Literary Translator\u2019s Association\u2019s 2017 National Translation Award, and he has also translated collections by Ra\u00fal Zurita and Jaime Luis Huen\u00fan.
