His work is mostly concerned with the place of the non-human in world theatre and performance. His articles,\u00a0essays and reviews have appeared in <em>ASTR Online<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Theatre Journal<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Johannesburg Salon<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Theatre Survey<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Performance Research<\/em>, <em>African Theatre<\/em>, <em>Modern Drama, <\/em><i>Africa is a Country<\/i>, <i>HowlRound<\/i>, <i>Brittle Paper,<\/i> and <i>The Los Angeles Review of Books<\/i>. He is also currently translating the complete plays of the Tanzanian dramatist Ebrahim Hussein from Swahili into English for Oxford University Press.
